Topic: New Blog and Justification for It
Item 1: My spouse blew my cover on my previous blog making it uncomfortable at best and more likely impossible to honestly and openly state my case. Unfortunately, many of my friends and family cannot separate criticism of people with some similarity to them from a direct attack on themselves. Thus, this new blog as a one-for-one replacement with my old one and which will not be shared with my significant other.
Item 2: This blog, like the previous one, will be written from where the the Conservative, Libertarian, and most importantly, the Classical Liberal viewpoints intersect. Like most people, I’m not a monolithic block of prepackaged beliefs. When I lived in my small hometown I was considered some kind of crazed leftist and a scary radical, and I still am—to them. When I lived for a while in the San Francisco Bay area they rejected those beliefs and positions as massively reactionary and me as some kind of neo-fascist. In other words, just because I’m a fiscal conservative and support an assertive foreign policy doesn’t mean that I’m a prude.
Item 3: Ultimately, this is intended for anyone who cares to stop by, but my efforts will continue to be directed toward those who feel as if they are locked in an insane asylum and the staff has all gone home for the holidays. That would be those people, who like me, spend their lives on the thin parts of various Bell Curves and stare back at the people in the fat part and say, “WTF?”
